We hired Transformations LLC to "makeover" our main living level - which encompasses - the foyer, living, dining, family, powder and laundry rooms as well as the kitchen/breakfast area and library. The work included selection of furniture and other accessories (without a cluttered look), paint selection, shadow boxes for pictures and drapes in formal dining and living rooms that coincided with our design theme of "Elegant, Modern, Tuscan." Our house is new and we have lived it in a little over two years before we hired Transformations, LLC. Shortly after we moved in, our plans to decorate were sidetracked and put on hold due to a family situation. So we purchased a few pieces here and there for comfort and used items we had in our prior house, however, nothing was coordinated (i.e., matched) and did not to provide the look we desired for our new home. We were immensely blessed and ever grateful for the referral to Transformations, LLC. Charisse Holder was delightful to work with and the she transformed our house into a home for everyday living! Charisse had very little items to work with - so all of the items for the family room, living room, dining room, foyer and library were pretty much the result of her efforts. The house while beautiful, was very dull (with a capital D). The wall had builder grade paint, there was no artwork on the walls, we only had blinds to window and a few accessories in the kitchen to provide some color, thus the house looked quite stark. Needleless to say, we needed a lot of help. Charisse suggested architectural elements for the foyer, added an accent to the fireplace wall, defining the space in the family room into two areas - making a reflection areas for some historical artwork I had recently purchased. She worked with our contractors for the backsplash and well as for the painting to be done to ensure everything coordinated with our concept. We had some things in place to help make the design effort easier (good bones), but without technical knowledge we were lost. So from the architectural elements, paint selection, backsplash, lighting additions and changes, furniture selection, and the majority of the accents, were due to her efforts. She also encouraged us to repurpose as much as we could - including a family heirloom for our dining room that was perfect when refinished for our Tuscan themed design. While Charisse is a certified interior decorator (i.e., a professional), she is very much a collaborator that enabled us to feel very comfortable to know that she would not force her will upon us or do anything that we did not want for our home. She truly listens to her clients wishes and incorporates those items into the overall design concept. There is no aspect of our WOW Transformation that I would change, my home is very comfortable, elegant and livable at the same time. That is say, we can function in our home without doing anything special, which was very important. From the small subtle tweaks made in the laundry room, which was a tremendous improvement – to the other rooms on our main living level which have that “WOW” effect! From the foyer, living room, powder, library, family room, dining room and kitchen – all elements and modifications made have been simply incredible and impressive! We certainly did not know how a rug could change the dynamics of a room to tie all the components together... love the look added to our living and family rooms. Each room has a standout or signature piece that immediately catches your attention when you look or enter that room - that let's you know you have a one-of-a-kind space that is unique and definitely not cookie cutter. The bottom line, we were extremely pleased (that we had selected Charisse for the job), excited (with the outcome), and speechless (that this was our home). The “value added” services provided by Charisse was everything we wanted and more than we could have ever achieved on our own. At the end of our experience, the Smart Shopping performed by Charisse allowed us to achieve a significant savings and enabled us to get a high end style at an excellent price.
